KUKU IS POWERFUL BUT BETRAYED AND KILLED BY IJEBU PEOPLE.

The impact of the late Balogun Odueyingbo Kuku can never be gotten among the Ijebu people most especially the people of Ijebu Ode. 

The historical fact about the late Balogun Odueyingbo Kuku has got everyone amazed due to his wealth, mansion, wives, children, and power. The late icon is the forefather to one of the EKO Hospital founders known as "SUNNY KUKU" who happens to be the "Olori Omo Ogun of Ijebu Land" The K alphabet indicates KUKU.

A tour to Ogun State (Ijebu Ode) precisely has enlightened our intelligence & broaden our knowledge on how this great man called Odueyingbo Bello Balogun KUKU came to the world, became an orphan at an early age and as time goes on became the richest and the most powerful man among the people of Ijebu and died on the 13th of November 1907. 

The warrior married 48wives during his time and gave birth to over 50 children. 

In a discussion with one of his grandchildren who is the OPOMULERO of the family, he said; Odueyingbo is powerful & not an ordinary person. He satisfies all his wives on the bed and even with money. Is this not funny?

KUKU became famous in his hometown, country, and among International communities and this brought about envy among his people who all claimed the love him.  He fought so many battles and this paved way for the success and greatness of the Ijebu ode people. Despite all his love for his hometown, he was still betrayed which led to his death.  

In addition, the powerful man called KUKU is the first person in the history of Yoruba land and Akile Ijebu to proclaim the ISLAMIC RELIGION to his slaves, neighbors, children, and Ijebu people at large. 

According to the OPOMULERO of the family, he said; Christianity came before Islamic religion and Christianity is about One wife, One husband, and when they preached the gospel to KUKU he said; I can't marry one wife and where should I pack the remaining wives? He said; Impossible. 

When the Islamic people came to discourse about Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W), he welcomed the idea when they sai ; "MEE LOLOHUN WI". Based on his power, wealth, and influence he was able to convince people and the Ijebu people were shouting; "KUKU NI KI KIRUN, MO KIRUN, KUKU NI KI SUJUD, MO RUKU.

After his love for Islam, he built a mosque which was the first in the Ijebu Ode at that time. They built the beautiful mosque in the year 1872 and his mansion were constructed by the Brazilians in the year 1872-1902. The planks used for the building In the picture were brought to the palace of KUKU by his slaves from Epe(Part of Lagos) to Ijebu Ode with legs.

There are so many prosperous men in the yard of KUKU such as Sunny Foloruson KUKU( Olori Ogun of Ijebu land), Dr. Adeyemi Kuku( Aremo of Kuku's family), Late Waterson Adeyemi KUKU, Late Bayo KUKU( Ogbeni Ooja of Ijebu land and also the TimTim Awujale), Late S.B KUKU, Late Ibrahim Afolabi KUKU, Adewale KUKU (The Opomulero of Kuku's family) and finally, I also recognized the present MOGAJI of Kuku Dynasty.
