Gbegiri is a Yoruba Soup and is popular among the Ibadan indigene of Oyo State., the soup is prepared with brown or white beans, the process begins with the peeling of the beans followed by boiling until extremely soft. This can take about an hour or more.

The next procedure is to add water at irregular intervals, ensuring that it the amount of water is always at the same level as the beans.

Blend the soft beans, and filter with a sieve. Pour the beans into a pot, add salt and Maggi for a good taste and prepare a stew. To prepare the stew, ingredients include tomatoes, red bell peppers ‘Tatashe’, onions, palm oil, seasonings, scotch bonnet peppers ‘ata rodo’, oil, and cow meat. (your preferred meat) Boil the cow meat in a cooking pot with water and seasonings.

The tomatoes, onions, and peppers are blended and boiled until it is dried into a thick paste. Place cooking pot on fire with oil, when heated, add chopped onions, grated garlic, and ginger.You can eat your Gbegiri with Amala, Semo, Eba, Eko(Solid pap).
